ABILENE, Texas – More than 600 cheerleaders will be in Abilene on Friday night to cheer for the same team.
They’re coming from across Texas and New Mexico to show their support for Iraan. The school’s cheerleaders were on their way home from a playoff game in Colorado City last Friday when their bus was hit by an 18-wheeler.
Cheer sponsor Liz Pope was killed in the crash. Her sister, who was driving the bus, is still in University Medical Center in Lubbock. The seven cheerleaders who were injured have all been released.
Cheerleaders who wear their uniform will get in free. Chik-fil-A will also feed them for free at the Expo Center before the game.
