CHICAGO — The Chicago Police Department gave a special boy an unforgettable day Wednesday, teaming up with Make-A-Wish to help 3-year-old David Juarez live his dream of becoming a police officer.
“The way they put this together today and the excitement they all had too in doing this for him was pretty amazing,” said David’s grandmother Anna Falcon.
David Juarez is on the road to recovery after battling with neuroblastoma, according to his family.
“It’s been an uphill battle, but he‘s on the other side of the hill now – he’s on his way down now,” said David’s grandfather Mario Juarez.
His uncle Fernando Quintanialla said the family spent many days with David as he went through treatments for his cancer. And one main fixture of their time together: the movie Zootopia.
“Usually he would be at the hospital a week – we all took turns spending time with him” Quintanialla said. “I lost count …
