EVERYONE in France is presumed to want to be an organ donor after they die unless they opt out ? the state is reminding people of the rule as a new way of opting out comes in.
As of January 1, 2017, people will be able to register their refusal to have their organs used at Refusal register.
This comes as the body responsible for organ donation, the Agence de la Biomédecine, is running a publicity campaign explaining the French rules on donation (which are the opposite to the British ones), via a YouTube video aimed at young people, TV public service adverts and notices in press and in hospitals.
