JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Jan. 4 (UPI) — A caring citizen helped rescue a dog that was abandoned on the side of a busy road in Florida.
Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office shared a photo of the small dog who had been left alongside the local road until patrolman Officer Lind arrived to rescue it.
“Someone left this little dog on the side of a busy road in a crate with no food or water,” Friends of Jacksonville Animals, Inc. said. “Apparently the little guy had been there for a few days as he was so very scared, and hungry.”
The Good Samaritan contacted police and Officer Lind arrived at the the scene to pick up the abandoned animal.
“He is now at Animal Care & Protective Services getting the best care, and will be in a safe forever place soon,” Friends of Jacksonville Animals, Inc. said.
