The White House’s official photographer has unveiled his most memorable experience during the last eight years spent following US President Barack Obama.
In a post to his Instagram account yesterday, White House staff photographer Pete Souza shared joyous photos of Mr Obama and daughters Malia and Sasha playing joyfully in the snow.
“People are always asking me to choose my favourite picture of the President. But I just can’t do it. So let me tell you about my favourite day,” the post’s caption reads.

Mr Souza explains the three photos posted to his account were taken in February 2010 during a snowstorm in Washington.
“I slept in my office overnight, knowing I probably couldn’t drive to the White House the next day,” he wrote.
“And then I guessed…and yes, hoped…that the President of the United States would be a dad and play with his girls in the snow. And he did.”
