The capital’s first ‘community fridge’ has just launched in the area and aims to provide food to those in need.

It’s a public enterprise where local businesses, traders, and residents can donate spare food – cutting local food waste and encouraging food sharing
The People’s Fridge is located in Pop Brixton – an outdoor space run by foodie stalls and independent businesses – and those who need the food can just take it for free.
There are currently around 8.4 million people in the UK (which is the equivalent to the whole of London), living in food poverty.
Meanwhile, it’s thought that we chuck away about 7 million tonnes of food and drink every year.
