PACE, Fla. (WEAR) — 
An 11-year-old girl from Pace is being honored as a 911 hero.
Her story is being submitted for recognition on the state and national level. She made the call back in January.
It’s a 911 call that would be difficult for an adult to make, let alone 11-year-old Peyton Jones.
Her 5-year-old brother, Holton, had stopped breathing.
Holton is alive and smiling now because his sister knew to call 911. She noticed something was wrong while he was taking a nap with his mom.
“My brothers started making these weird hiccuping sounds and I knew something wasn’t right, so I woke up my mom,” Peyton explained.
“She’s the one that alerted me and said ‘mom, mom, mom, he’s not breathing, he’s gurgling’. She’s the one who made sure he’s here today,” their mother, Genia, said.
