A couple who spent the past two days trapped in the midst of Cyclone Debbie on Hamilton Island have shown the world their love is stronger than a storm.
Amy Murphy and Damien Hall had to cancel their wedding this week after arriving on Hamilton Island as Cyclone Debbie bore down on the region.
The couple and their five-year-old son, Jack, were forced to abandon their plans and take refuge in their rented home.
“It’s disappointing that’s for sure, but the main thing is that we’re all safe and we’ll still get married,” Mr Hall told the TODAY Show this morning.
“They say rain on your wedding day is supposed to be good luck,” Ms Murphy added with a laugh.
“A cyclone won’t stop us.”
