EDMONTON, Alberta – A man saved his dog Saturday after it plunged into freezing water when thin ice broke at a park pond. 
Duncan McIver dived in to save his dog, Cosmo. 
“As soon as the ice broke, I went right in. I don’t know, I think most people would do the same thing for their dogs,” McIver told CTV, which had a reporter at the scene working on an unrelated story about thin ice.
St. Albert officials said there has been an increase in ice-related rescues, according to CTV.
