MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. – A Brevard County deputy seems to have a knack for being in the right place at the right time.
Deputy Taner Primmer jumped into action recently while he was off duty enjoying dinner with his family at the Merritt Island Outback Steakhouse and he heard a nearby patron choking.
The woman was holding her throat and had collapsed to the floor.
Primmer immediately performed the Heimlich maneuver saving her life. She was able to start breathing on her own and recovered.
“This is a perfect example of why we have such great respect for our first responders,” a spokeswoman for Outback told News 6. “Deputy Primmer, who was also a guest at the time, didn’t hesitate to help another guest. We’re thankful for his heroic actions and we’re glad everyone is okay.”
It’s the second time this year the heroic deputy saved a life, according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.
