In bizarre and fatally unfortunate accidents, some parents leave their child in a car unattended under the heat. any length of time is beyond me. It is reported, that since 1998 around 712 children are thought to have died from heatstroke in the US alone after being left in hot vehicles.
A quick thinking 10-year-old boy, Bishop Curry, from Texas is not having this and is out to prevent deaths like this from happening. The fifth grader has invented something called the Oasis, a clever little gadget that monitors the temperature inside the car.
If the temperature gets too high, the Oasis will turn on, and cool air will be emitted. The plan is to have a cover or a car seat that will be able to start cooling the air around the child until help arrives.
