DUBUQUE, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) — Veterans struggling to find a place to live now have a home in Dubuque.
Goodwill Industries of Northeast Iowa is celebrating the grand opening of its home for veterans.
The house along N. Grandview Avenue is now home to four men who were recently homeless.
Goodwill directors and veterans are celebrated the new home on Friday, but several veterans have been living there since April 1st.
Goodwill Industries actually rents the house and allows the veterans to essentially sub-lease.

Veterans’ advocates say there are more veterans struggling to find a stable home than many people might think.
“Veterans are such a proud group that a lot of time it’s hard to get out of them where they’re staying if they are homeless,” said Veterans’ Freedom Center Director, Jim Wagner.
