“Thank you for buying me a bike,” Naz Harding, 12, told Hartford police officers during an interview with InsideEdition.com. “[I was] surprised and happy, because I could ride my bike with my friends [again].”
When Officer Tyrell Jenkins, Officer Kevin Smalls and Officer Christopher White heard Naz, who is a member of the police department’s youth program, had his bike stolen, they decided to step in.
“It was pretty cool of them to stop on their busy days fighting crime and doing what they’re doing just to give my son a bike,” Naz’s mom, Cathy Harding, said. “Just to give him back a bike, just as simple as riding with his friends means so much to these kids.”
