This morning, 9:45 am, motorists alerted Hilden Highway Police about a not-everyday occurrence on A 46. A duckmother and her three chicks waddled slowly across the lanes between Tunnel Wersten and the university tunnel. By the time the officials had arrived, all traffic had apparently seen the family in time and luckily stopped.

The not entirely safe trip finally ended in Volksgarten in Düsseldorf, where officials released the quartet again in freedom.
The policemen stopped the traffic for a short time and together with a passenger car driver, took them four and brought them into the patrol car – much to the
joy, happiness and enthusiasm of the other drivers..
