Samuel Smith’s lifeless body was found floating in Chewalla Lake last month. The only thing left was his dog, Khava, and it too was missing. Smith’s family wanted the dog back as a way to remember him.
Family members searched desperately for Khava and even offered a cash reward of $2,000.
Weeks later, Khava was found more than 100 miles away in Winona, Mississippi.
Marshall County Sheriff Kenny Dickerson told FOX13 Smith’s dog was found on the side of I-55 by a passing motorist.
Khava appeared to have been hit by a car. The driver took the dog to the vet and paid for the dog’s treatment. Khava spent several days at the vet before being Identified through social media.
Sheriff Dickerson said the dog appeared to have been traveling with Joshua Fletcher, who is the suspect in Smith’s murder. Officials believe Khava somehow …
