Trubs, a rescue from New Beginnings for Cats, spent five of his six years at the shelter until 6-year-old Jade Allen, of Bradley, bonded with him during a rainy-day visit to “pet the kitties” at the shelter one year ago. Jade, who has sensory processing disorder, often had trouble falling asleep at night until Trubs, deemed a special needs cat, arrived at the Allen’s home. “He has changed so much, and changed Jade so much,” Jade’s mother, Jessica, said. “It’s like he knows how to calm her down and he won’t leave her side until she’s fully asleep.”
