One city resident that a VICE News crew met in Houston, who’s been coordinating relief efforts for victims of the deadly storm,  rides his motorcycle throughout the flooded city in full Deadpool-attire. He even legally changed his name to “Deadpool Gambino.”
Gambino, who was deployed to Iraq twice as a member of the Army, uses the the Houston Cosplay Facebook page he operates to organize fellow enthusiasts to come to the George R. Brown Convention Center, one of the main shelters now housing Harvey evacuees. There, several dozen cosplay enthusiasts, many dressed as princesses, distribute small toys to children and pose for pictures to raise Harvey victim’s spirits.
“They just got their homes ruined, probably a lot of their stuff lost, if not all of it. And they have a smile on their face,” Gambino said. “That’s what it’s about.”
