SALT LAKE CITY (Good4Utah)- The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has created the first-of-its-kind charity vending machines.
These machines can be found at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building during the month of December and give consumers the chance “Light The World” with service.
“The idea is a simple way to donate and help charities,” Brent H. Nielson, Executive Director of LDS Missionary Department explained. “Instead of getting something out of a vending machine you can actually give something.”
The Church has partnered with several charities in the country and around the world. Members are hoping the machines remind people how simple it is to give to others in need.
Donors can even buy a chicken or a goat for someone in a Third World country (Care.Org). Or donors can give locally by donating to the Utah Food Bank.
