When Ashley Stupendick’s relationship came to a screeching halt, she needed to find a new place to live and fast. Not just for herself, but for her two children as well.
She turned to a budding organization called Single MOMtreal for help and volunteer Tanya D’Amato quickly stepped up, searching for donated home furnishings and a way to transport it all to Stupendick’s new apartment on the South Shore.
“Basically, he had thrown all of my things out, so I didn’t have anything,” Stupendick said. “Tanya helped me until I was ready to move.”
This wasn’t the first time D’Amato had been called to action. Since last spring, she has helped gather and deliver donations to several mothers seeking assistance from Single MOMtreal.
