A woman wanted to pay it forward this holiday season.
Ashley D’Amico told the school she wanted to donate money to the fund because she is in the process of adopting a brother and sister from Vietnam, and she wanted to “pay forward” to the school system that they will attend when the adoption is finalized, school officials said.
D’Amico donated $3,469.96 to cover all of the outstanding student meals charges as of Dec. 19.
FCPS Food and Nutrition Services Manager Robert Kelly said he is grateful for D’Amico’s extreme gratitude, the wonderful and kind gesture and her interest in the department, which uses local fruits from Catoctin Orchard.
Kelly said D’Amico owns a real estate investment company in Pennsylvania.
