Instead of a ticket or a warning for speeding, Altoona police Officer Tim Peterson hands a ham to Bonnie Fagan on Thursday. Using a donation from an anonymous city resident, the Police Department bought 26 hams at Woodman’s Markets, which officers then distributed.
During some traffic stops Thursday, Peterson gave motorists a ham when he returned their driver’s licenses to them and wished them happy holidays. “To brighten someone’s holiday, or any day for that matter, is a good thing,” says Peterson, who joined the Altoona Police Department in 2016.
