A teenager charged with armed robbery is getting some help from a surprising scenario through an elderly woman who read about why the 19-year-old allegedly committed the crime. 89-year-old Sylvia Robinson from Dracut read about the troublesome 19-year-old Cameron McCormack of Dracut was facing inside the Lowell Sun. McCormack was charged with armed robbery after he allegedly used a pellet gun to rob a man at Hovey Field in Lowell just before New Year’s Eve.
Police stated that the teenager, who pleaded guilty to the crime immediately, stole $26 from a 25-year-old he met online. The police report states that McCormack went ahead and told the police that he robbed the victim to get money to pay rent.
