Visiting vulnerable victims of crime has increasingly become a routine part of the working day for police forces across the UK.
Two Nottinghamshire community support officers visited the man’s Mansfield home to check on him after a burglary.
One officer noticed a piano in the living room, with a piece of Chopin music open on its stand – the man’s favourite song. 
“One of his favourite Chopin pieces he said, a nocturne. I told him it was my late grandma’s favourite too,” the officer wrote on the force’s Facebook page.
