The Elmwood Park Zoo in Norristown wants the public to suggest names for two jaguar cubs born at the zoo on Jan. 24.
The cubs and their mother, Inka, will be kept away from the public until the summer, when they will be put into a new “Trail of the Jaguar” area at the zoo.
The female cub weighs nearly 10 pounds and has a lighter coat than her brother, who weighs almost 11 pounds and has a darker nose and coat.
“The male cub seems to be developing his mother’s love of play and is the more adventurous of the two,” the zoo reported. “The female cub is happy to follow her brother’s lead. Both cubs are very vocal and very healthy.”
The zoo asks the public to email the suggestions to: [email protected] Entries must be received by 4 p.m. March 15.
