VERDI, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) —
A Nevada Division of Forestry firefighter made a special friend Wednesday.
While fighting the Garson Fire — a wildfire that sparked west of Reno, near Boomtown, on Sunday, June 18 — the NDF firefighter saved a fawn from the fire.
According to Reno Fire, the fawn is now in the care of the Nevada Division of Wildlife.
The Garson Fire is currently at 141 acres and crews have it 60 percent contained.
Two days ago, on Monday, a CHP-Truckee officer rescued a fawn stuck in a drainage ditch along Interstate 80.
