FLEMINGTON — A woman from the borough was allowed to bring her service dog home after the apartment complex had earlier required her to remove him due to his breed.
Kenzie Lane was told to remove her dog, Buddy, from her Prospect Hills Apartment about two weeks ago. If she didn’t comply, she would face eviction.
Her service dog is a pit bull mix. A spokesman for Hilton Management, which oversees Prospect Hills Apartment Complex, said pit bulls are not allowed in the apartments.
The spokesman said they requested certain information from Kenzie Lane showing that Buddy is a service dog. Lane provided the information early this week.
“Miss Lane provided the information that we requested, and it did comply with the Fair Housing Act,” a spokesman said.
Lane said she supplied them with a written list of the services Buddy provides as a service dog.
